Blue Bay Kayak Adventures offers more than just kayak rentals; WE DELIVER! we provide paddle board rentals, snorkel gear rentals, and self-guided tours, allowing guests to fully immerse themselves in Oahu's pristine waters. During our experiences, we blend adventure with cultural education by educating guests on local flora and fauna, the island's history, and its vibrant local population. We're committed to environmental stewardship, teaching guests about the use of reusable or sustainable materials and providing insights into invasive and endemic species on the island.

We prioritize hiring local residents who not only deliver equipment directly to guests but also provide cultural training and insights into caring for the island. Kai, Cari, Benji, and Mel have collectively conceived a vision to leverage the vibrant guest population on Oahu while also contributing positively to the local community. Recognizing the potential to curate joyful experiences for both residents and visitors alike, they embarked on a journey to actualize their aspirations.

KAI
Kai, a middle school history teacher pursuing his Ph.D. in History Teaching at UH Manoa, hails from Ka’a’awa and proudly identifies as a Kahuku Red Raider. With a background in competitive surfing and swimming for his high school team, his profound connection to the ocean and the island permeates his daily life. Together with his wife Cari and their two daughters, he cherishes moments spent beachside, aspiring to impart the island's rich history to both students and guests.

Cari, a graphic designer with a bachelor's degree from BYU Hawai’i, undertakes design projects for various island-based entities, including BYU Hawai’i and the Polynesian Cultural Center. As a devoted mother, she delights in accompanying her daughters to parks and beaches. She is an amazing artist and will showcase her artistic prowess when called upon (if begged). With an eye toward fostering a verdant and promising future for her children and the island, she endeavors to share her talents generously.

Benji, a Logistics Officer in the US Military, has embraced the allure of island life and aspires to cultivate a nurturing, optimistic, and empowering atmosphere for Oahu's residents. His passions encompass surfing, spearfishing, and paddling across the island's picturesque waters alongside friends and family, all while nurturing a commitment to community betterment.

Melanie, a Civil Engineer who works remotely, possesses a fervent love for the outdoors, engaging in activities such as running, hiking, and surfing. She loves to spend time at the beach and enjoy the company of her friend/dog Freddie (and sometimes her husband Benji too). Fueled by a competitive spirit and a drive for excellence, she revels in witnessing guests challenge themselves and discover the island's breathtaking wonders.
